Randonneuring routes are often re-used over several years, so an important part of pre-ride planning is to check for any new road closures that might cause unexpected detours. My first go-to is Google Maps’ traffic layer, which reliably shows active closures and construction in North America and other parts of the world.
Since RideWithGPS doesn’t offer a traffic overlay, I created this view that overlays your RideWithGPS route on top of the Google traffic layer. Closed roads are marked with a ⛔️ symbol and a dashed red line.
